Yewfield Retreat

Yewfield, near Ambleside, Lake District

I have been running yoga days and retreats for 15 years. now and want to tell you all about them.

Nestled between Ambleside and Hawkshead in the Lake Distict is the imposing, 18th century mansion Yewfield. Gothic is style was built in 1859 in 80 acres of its own grounds. With some 20 or so luxury rooms and a large separate yoga studio, it has become my ideal location for my yoga retreats.

Everybody that I have taken there, some 150 or so thus far, all fall in love with the ambience and informality of the house so much so that many return again and again.

Although we fill 10 rooms with 15 students we always feel very at home and take over the place. We have our own kitchen area for the group and can help ourselves to tea, coffee and snacks at any time. We bring our own wine and soft drinks and the perfect spot on the coaches infant of a roaring fire provide a wonderful and spacious area to relax and talk.

The purpose built yoga studio is idea for a class of 16.

A ten minute walk up a well worn path takes you to the stunning Tarn How’s where a beautiful Nation trust waterside walk is on offer.

With Hawkshead 2 miles down the hill there is always the opportunity to walk to the pub, cafe and shops and with Ambleside some 3 miles away there are cinemas, restaurants and and bars.
